Description
Kittens need wet food differently from adult cats — their teeth are still developing, their digestive systems are still maturing, and they benefit enormously from the extra hydration that wet food provides during the rapid growth phase. Nekko Kitten Tuna Mousse with Goat Milk is purpose-built for that — smooth enough for young teeth, palatable enough that even just-weaned kittens accept it readily, and nutritionally suited to their developmental needs.
The mousse texture is the key feature: there are no chunks to chew, just a smooth, spreadable consistency that kittens can lap up immediately. Tuna provides the high-quality animal protein essential for growth, and the added goat milk delivers calcium for bone development plus the milky flavour that taps into kittens' natural preference for milk during weaning. Many BD breeders and rescue carers use Nekko Kitten Mousse specifically as the transitional wet food when moving orphan kittens from milk replacer to solid food.
Use from about 4 weeks (during weaning) through 4 months as a primary wet food, and from 4 to 12 months as a daily supplement alongside kitten dry food. Most kittens eat one full pouch per meal once they're past 8 weeks.
Key Ingredients
Tuna, goat milk, water, mousse thickeners, fish oil (DHA source), taurine, calcium, vitamins and minerals, antioxidants.
Why It's Good For Your Pet
- Smooth weaning transition — mousse texture and milky flavour ease the move from mother's milk to solid food.
- Strong growth support — tuna protein plus calcium and DHA cover the key kitten nutritional needs.
- Hydration during growth — wet food adds moisture that's particularly important during rapid kitten growth.
- Trusted Nekko quality — same brand standards as the adult Nekko line.
Honest Considerations
- Contains tuna and goat milk — not suitable for kittens with fish or dairy sensitivities.
- Designed for kittens only — adult cats may eat it happily but it's calorically dense for adult maintenance.
- Mousse texture can be messy for very young kittens — feed on a flat plate to reduce mess.
- Single-serving pouches create more packaging waste than larger jars.
Feeding Guide
4–8 week kitten: 1/4 to 1/2 pouch per meal, three to four times a day. 8–16 week kitten: 1/2 to 1 full pouch per meal, three times a day. 4–12 month: one pouch as a daily supplement alongside kitten dry food. Always provide fresh water.
