Description
The Chicken variant of Nekko Kitten Mousse offers a poultry alternative to the Tuna with Goat Milk variant — same smooth mousse texture, same kitten-specific nutritional fortification, but with chicken as the primary protein. It's useful for kittens that simply prefer chicken, for breeders who want to alternate flavours, or for households avoiding fish-heavy diets in the early months.
Chicken is generally considered a gentler protein than fish for very young kittens — easier on the digestive system, less likely to cause loose stools during the sensitive weaning weeks. The mousse format remains the same: smooth enough that kittens with new teeth can manage easily, palatable enough that even cautious eaters accept it, and the recipe includes the calcium, DHA and taurine that the kitten growth phase demands. Many BD households use this as the everyday weaning wet food and save the Tuna Mousse for variety days.
Like the Tuna variant, this is suited for kittens from about 4 weeks (weaning) through 4 months as a primary wet food, and from 4 to 12 months as a daily supplement alongside kitten dry food.
Key Ingredients
Chicken, water, mousse thickeners, fish oil (DHA source), taurine, calcium, vitamins and minerals, antioxidants.
Why It's Good For Your Pet
- Easier weaning digestion — chicken is typically gentler than fish for very young kittens' developing stomachs.
- Strong growth support — balanced protein, calcium and DHA cover kitten development needs.
- Flavour variety — alternating with the Tuna Mousse prevents flavour fixation early on.
- Smooth texture — mousse format suits newly weaned kittens with sensitive teeth.
Honest Considerations
- Contains chicken — not suitable for kittens with poultry allergies.
- Mousse texture can be messy during feeding — use a flat plate.
- Single-serving pouches generate more packaging waste than larger formats.
- Designed for kittens — not optimal for adult maintenance feeding.
