More and more cat owners are harness training their cats to allow safe outdoor exploration — particularly in apartments without gardens or safe outdoor access. A well-fitted harness is far safer than a collar for walking, as it distributes pressure across the chest rather than the delicate throat.
Our cat harness range includes H-style harnesses (two loops connected by a strap — lightweight and easy to put on), vest-style harnesses (wrap around the chest and back — more secure, harder to escape from), and figure-eight designs. Most cats need several short training sessions to accept a harness — start by leaving it near your cat, then drape it on without fastening, before progressing to short indoor sessions.
Leashes designed for cats are typically lighter and more flexible than dog leads. Never leave a harnessed cat unattended outdoors.
