Dental disease is one of the most commonly overlooked health issues in cats — studies suggest that over 70% of cats show signs of dental disease by age three. Left untreated, tartar and gum inflammation can lead to tooth loss, pain affecting eating behaviour, and even systemic illness as oral bacteria enter the bloodstream.
Our cat dental care range includes cat-specific toothbrushes (smaller and softer than human brushes), enzymatic toothpaste in flavours cats accept — never use human toothpaste, which contains fluoride and xylitol that are toxic to cats — and dental gel that can be applied without brushing.
If your cat won't tolerate brushing, dental treats and water additives are a useful secondary approach. They won't replace brushing, but they do make a measurable difference to plaque levels over time.
